I met Elizabeth in 2020-2022 through carers coming to support me in caring for my Father Mr Arthur Luckup, who had developed Vascular Dementia after having a stroke in 2014. Elizabeth was a ray of sunshine coming into our lives, always positive and very gentle but persuasive when Dad could be difficult and needed to be guided into whatever every day activity (dressing, washing, eating etc). Elizabeth was reliable, punctual, understanding of Dad's changing needs and willing to spend time with myself to update me on why Dad was as he was, or suggesting options when I was at my wits end. Elizabeth's belief in working with her clients is completely centred on the person-centered approach but also acknowledges that the family supporting are a part of the equation too. This is probably why Elizabeth felt like a family friend coming into our situation and not just someone who came to do the job and then walked away. Always ensuring Dad's dignity was preserved. During the last month of Dad's life when the dementia began to ravage him, Elizabeth was there at all times, guiding me and the family, I would heartily recommend Elizabeth and that she would become a very valued asset to your care team.
